Demolition<\/strong> – <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes a blank canvas is needed, sometimes only one part of a space must be cleared. Demolition can yield materials with plenty on life left in them to re-use, such as tin roofing or even broken concrete and crushed blocks that can become gabion fill. This can cut financial costs whilst making a project less costly to the environment. Safety is always top priority in demolition and a thorough risk assessment is always carried out followed by clear methodology with appropriate tools for the job at hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Groundworks<\/strong> – <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Groundworks are the often hidden foundations upon which the built landscape exist, as part of larger project this may involve adjusting ground levels, digging trenches for footings, preparation for solid sub-base to accommodate paving or flags, kerbs, edging, pathways and drives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walls<\/strong> – <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Specializing in stone walling, repair of stone walling, re-building part or whole wall. Building new walls as features such as retaining walls, boundary walls, stairs, or for a raised bed or terrace. A good block and bricklayer. Not a bricklayer by trade, though will do a lovely job of bricklaying as a part of a larger build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patios<\/strong> – <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Patios are one of those transformative elements that can make an outdoor space comfortable and easy to use and enjoy whilst being low maintenance with a beautiful aesthetic. From patios with a more modern feeling, to relaying traditional pennant flagstones, great care is taken to achieve the desired look and feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ponds<\/strong> – <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ponds can be beautifully crafted elements of a garden bringing the sound of running water with them as well as an abundance of wildlife, separating areas, adding shape and forms not found elsewhere in a garden, or become a main focal point central to relaxation in the garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fencing<\/strong> – <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fencing and trellis installation for that feeling of comfort and privacy around the house and garden. Fencing varies hugely in looks and application. The right application of fencing can provide both great benefits and great appearance with good longevity and cost effective installation compared to walling. A keen eye to detail is important for the finish to look spot on from all angles. With attention to detail fencing can be worked with existing trees of importance and up or down changing levels to merge into a garden with as little disruption as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drainage –<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

French drains, underground drainage, manholes, benching, inspection chambers, guttering for barns, sheds and other structure along with installing water harvesting systems for watering plants in the summers heat or drinking water for livestock. A good understanding of hydrology in a landscape, the effects of different surfaces and how to direct, drain or soak-away surface or ground water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Landscaping – <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lean-to’s – <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lean-to’s are a great way to make the most of unused space by a wall where the wall serves to provide structure. This cuts the cost of the structure and gives a solid comforting feeling inside of having one or two walls of solid construction to enclose the space. Lean-to’s traditionally accommodate workshops, tool sheds, bikes and garden furniture, or can be paved or decked with a barbecue for recreation. They can even form a nice space for a hot tub or sauna where the feeling of being backed up against a wall adds to the privacy and comfort of the space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barn’s<\/strong> –<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Barns are commonly of block construction, sometimes poles and beam and more recently of steel construction. Often roofed with box form steel sheeting or more recently with fibre-cement sheeting. Barn’s are common projects for conversion these days to be used for all sorts of other purposes. A barn on land can be worth repairing and re-modelling to suit another purpose, subject to necessary planning consents. We love a good barn conversion!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stables – <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Strong, sturdy, easy to muck out and maintain, good against the elements, well presented and well thought out are the key to good stable blocks. Conservation –<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Conservation and restoration of buildings usually come down to removing something that has been done to an old house in the recent past to the detriment of the fabric of the building such as peeling cement strap pointing to a Georgian solid walled house causing damp to be trapped in the walls. With repair to stonework and repointing in breathable lime mortar an old house will retain its original character and not deteriorate further. Most conservation work involves detailed study and survey along with advice and consultancy before making small changes to remedy problems caused in the past, the goal being to leave as much original material that is in good condition as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Repair –<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If it can be repaired then that’s a great option, especially for things like boundary walls that have been attacked by ivy for instance, or a extra large and very nice garden shed that’s base has rotted out. Always happy to repair something that can be repaired than to knock the whole thing down and rebuild. Sometimes a new vision requires a complete start-from-scratch approach to achieve a brand new look, although some clients don’t wish for that and everyone has their own tastes. Always happy to take a look and give honest advice on any repair job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
